One For The Record Books

In over eighteen years in EMS, I’ve intubated a few hundred people, put Combitubes, King airways and LMA’s into maybe a dozen more, and never ever had a patient I couldn’t find some way to effectively ventilate.

But today was the first time I couldn’t see vocal cords through direct laryngoscopy, yet still managed to get a Combitube into the trachea.

Weird.
