Ice Bucket Challenge: KTKC and Code Green Campaign

A number of you have challenged me to do the ice bucket challenge for ALS, namely Ric Solis, Fiona Campbell, Dave Konig, Monica Earll, and a few others I’ve probably forgotten.

I told you I would accept your challenge, and I have. I am a man of my word.

Only, I’m not donating my money to ALS. I’m donating my money to Kilted to Kick Cancer, and the Code Green Campaign, two charities which I gladly support.

I am, however, doing this in memory of Rob Davis, aka Dust Devil for those of you who knew him on the various EMS forums. Rob was a friend, and a paramedic passionate about his profession. We agreed on many things, disagreed vehemently on others, and engaged in the occasional knock down, drag out Internet feud.

But at the end of the day, Rob was a good guy and a friend, and a great man to just sit around with and swap stories over a few beers, an activity I got to engage in with him not nearly enough before ALS took him from us.

Rest easy, Dust Devil. You are missed.

For those of you who would like to see my ice bucket challenge, the video is below.

I warn you now, that which is seen cannot be unseen. You will be emotionally scarred and desperately in need of brain bleach after watching this video. View at your own risk.

If you’d rather skip the emotional trauma, here are the donation links to the charities I support:

Donate to the Code Green Campaign here.

Donate to Kilted to Kick Cancer here. Click the box that says “This donation is made as part of a Fundraising Team,” and choose Team Ambulance Driver.

Remember, I warned you.
