Mustering the Kilted Army

Kilted to Kick Cancer 2012 is a bare three weeks away.

Last year, we raised $12,000, and the gun bloggers raised the lion's share of it. This year, y'all really need to step up your game, because the goal is $50,000.

We can DO this.

You're going to have to step up your game, because I'm throwing down the gauntlet to the EMS and other public safety bloggers. Surely we can raise as much money as the gun bloggers did last year. If we hit up someone in every ED we transport to, handed out fliers and donation cards to our ED doctor and nurse friends, it can be done.

Challenge your fellow EMT's to give.

Shame your employers into matching employee donations.

Humiliate and debase yourself for donations, if that's what it takes. I certainly did.

Caleb Giddings raised $1,000 in the first week. And then he turned around and raised even more at the Bianchi cup. Wearing a hideous yellow kilt, no less.

Jay G scarred our retinas with this one, and almost overtook me in the race to be top fundraiser. This year, I'm participating in the fundraising challenge, but for bragging rights only. No prizes for me this year. Everybody has a chance to win.

I'm challenging all my readers and fellow EMS bloggers to participate. If you have a blog and a Y chromosome, join us. Heck, even if you don't have a blog or a Y chromosome, join us. Women are welcome too, and goodness knows the guys would enjoy kilted pics of something that doesn't have hairy legs.

Rhett Fleitz and Willie Wines, y'all gonna don those kilts and help us out this year?
