For my Louisiana and Texas NREMT peeps:
I’ll be teaching a transitional refresher for National Registry EMTs and Paramedics, hosted by the Bayouland chapter of the Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered EMTs.
The course will be held at the Crowley Fire Department, in Crowley, LA. Cost is $100 for paramedics, free for EMTs. If you need a CPR card as well, the cost is $10.
This course will be taught on an A/B shift schedule from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning August 3, 2015. Identical content will be taught on Monday and Wednesday.
EMTs attend the first three weeks, paramedics must attend all six weeks. If you are an EMT who also needs CEUs, you may attend the paramedic-only refresher days for those.
This course will cover all core and flex content necessary for renewal of NREMT EMT and Paramedic certification, and will include specific content aimed at bridging the gap between EMT-B and EMT, and NREMT-P and NRP.
There will be lectures, but this will not be death-by-Powerpoint, nor will it be an online, self-directed learning exercise. We’re going to flip the classroom a bit and utilize some student-centered learning, so come prepared to be a participant, and not merely an audience.
