Prayers And Good Thoughts Needed…

… for the family and colleagues of a paramedic in northern California today.

I will say no more now, as I believe the story has not yet hit the news.

What I will say is that this profession exacts an emotional toll on everyone in it, and for some that toll is too much to pay.

My first boss in EMS had a saying, “Patients, partners and profits… in that order. If you take care of the first two, the third will take care of itself.”

Of course, he’s out of business now, so the statement may not be valid in a business sense.

But it makes sense in all the ways that are most important.

Take care of your partners, and be there for them when you can.

Life is fleeting.
