One very enjoyable part of this year’s LANREMT EMS Conference in my home state was the opportunity for several of the conference speakers to take a fishing charter with Captain Mike Ledet out of Cocodrie, LA.
Mike’s a full-time deputy for Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Department and does all of their maritime and water rescue. He’s been a fishing guide in the area for 34 years, and knows the surrounding waters like I know my way from the bedroom to the bathroom. We caught a limit of speckled trout, a few gafftop catfish, and five nice bull redfish, despite the fact that Mike had three backlashin’, line tanglin’, fish losin’ amateurs in the boat.
If you’re ever in the area, a fishing charter with Mike is big fun, reasonably priced, and he’ll definitely put you on the fish. Give him a call at the marina at (985) 594-2414 or cell (985) 790-1044 to set up your charter.
