So, for a guy that no longer believes in spinal immobilization for the vast majority of our patients, I find it rather ironic that I choose a couple of pieces of spinal immobilization equipment for my EMS Today 2011 New Product Showcase:

One thing's for sure, though. If these designs take off, that's gonna spell the death of the old "Armor All the bench seat when your paramedic partner pisses you off" trick.

Riddle me this, Batman: If you could replace every oxygen delivery device on your ammalance - every venturi mask, simple face mask, partial rebreather, nasal cannula and non-rebreather - and replace it with a device that does the work of all those things, is less claustrophobic for the patient, and prevents you from mistakenly checking your patient's testicles, would you do it?
